Prolonged Sitting Is Never Good News For Your Back

And believe it or not... your posture is not the main problem.

It’s your chair!

So, if you must sit a lot... make sure you use the best chair possible.

YOUR OFFICE CHAIR

A good office chair can be looked at like a tool that can help maximize back support while maintaining your posture.

1. A good office chair must be fully adjustable.

2. Remember to sit all the way back in your seat and adjust the height of the seat to be equal to the height of your knees.

3. Be sure that the backrest of your office chair corresponds to the natural curvature of your spine providing enough support to the lumbar region.

4. The seat of your office chair must be comfortable and be set at a height to allow your feet to rest flat on the floor or footrest.

5. The armrests should be soft and set at a height to allow your shoulders to relax with your elbows close to your body.

6. The office chair must have a five-leg base with rollers that allow it to move easily across the floor.

Using The Phone

Avoid cradling the phone between your head and shoulder while you write or use a computer.

Always use a headset, allowing you to have the freedom of the use of your hands as you speak without injuring your neck.

Remember to Take Breaks

No matter how great a chair you have, you need to move around for a few minutes every 1/2 hour. This will help keep your joints, ligaments, muscles and tendons loose, which in turn help you feel more comfortable, more relaxed and more productive.
